In the classic FUE method (Follicular Unit Extraction), the hair follicles (also called grafts) at the back of the head are extracted and transplanted individually. The the careful individual removal of hair roots offers special protection. The advantages of this procedure are that no skin sutures are necessary and therefore no stitches have to be pulled. As a result, there are no scars in the removal area and the wound heals much faster and with less complications. Gold FUE is a special FUE method in which the grafts are removed with an efficient micromotor and a gold-plated hollow needle. The extremely sharp and fine gold tip produces even fewer punctures, which primarily accelerate the healing phase and cause less scarring.

Micro hair pigmentation is a non-surgical therapy for extensive hair loss. In this process, colour pigments are selectively introduced under the skin. This method is particularly suitable for supporting a hair transplantation by means of an optical compression between the inserted hair follicles. In addition to hair thickening, it is also a proven remedy for scars from accidents or operations, where hair transplantation is difficult to perform. The pigmentation also gives the impression of very natural and dense hair in these situations.

In the case of very advanced hair loss, there are usually too few donor hairs in the area of the back of the scalp for a satisfactory skin transplant. In this case, hair can be taken from other areas of the body (for example chest hair) or beard hair can be taken and implanted into the recipient area.

Since FUE hair transplantation is not an operation under general anaesthesia, the risks are generally relatively low. Under certain circumstances some may be intolerant to the local anaesthetic. Side effects of the transplantation itself are not yet known. However, it is a fact that the surgical technique is quite time-consuming, as each follicle must be removed and relocated individually. However, this is not a disadvantage of FUE hair transplantation, as the final result is completely natural and satisfactory due to the complex surgical technique.

After transplantation of their own hair, patients usually want to see results as soon as possible. That’s understandable. However, patience is key. The final result can take up to a year to be seen properly. Despite the good durability of a hair transplant, patients should avoid certain activities of everyday life for the first days after the operation. Basically, the freshly transplanted hair follicles must be protected and treated carefully. Here is a small list of the most important aspects to answer patients’ most frequent asked questions in advance:

• Protection against impacts with objects (no football etc.)
• Avoiding lifting heavy loads
• Avoid sweating; do not engage in active sports
• No sexual activity for the first few days
• No alcohol after the treatment, because the patient must take an antibiotic
• If possible, sleep in a supine position with slightly raised upper body
• Avoiding friction in the area of the transplantation sites
• Washing hair only on the 3rd day after the treatment
• Hair wash exactly according to our instructions
• For the first hair wash, please use the shampoos prescribed by us and the respective lotion
• Protect scalp from sunlight and other stimuli The patient should wear a loose-fitting headgear outside for at least 14 days
• Avoid swimming, solariums and saunas
• If after 10-12 days the skin crusts still remain on the transplantation areas, please massage the areas intensively with an oily cream and remove the crusts from the area.

Note: After about 2 weeks, the transplanted hairs begin to fall out. However, this is no cause for concern. The first hairs will be shed so that strong, strong and healthy hair grows back. This is a normal procedure.
